Apparently adult men in are becoming more allergic to things than in the past, and it’s on a steady rise. Suggested causes are increased exposure to certain allergens, or a lower incidence of childhood infections.
My money’s on all the crap in the air from on-the-rise industrial and traffic pollution. Increased airborn pollutants of decreased varieties. But, I’m not a doctor, and haven’t really studied it.
