And the results are…..!
inconclusive.
Yep. The ultrasound showed that I have a “dense fatty liver” and nothing in particular wrong with my gallbladder, but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing in particular wrong with my gallbladder.
Blood test results show everything is in “normal” range except for triglycerides (which are are in the “Borderline/high” range, and one liver enzyme. The triglycerides can be explained by the fact that I eat a lot of fatty foods. The liver enzyme, by the “dense fatty liver”.
So where does that leave me? Well, in a much better place (at least much better informed) than I was 12 hours ago, when I thought I was going to have my appendix rupture on me. Also, a more informed, determined place, where I know what’s up with myself. I know that my blood pressure is still borderline/high, I know my bloodwork looks good in general, and that I don’t have appendicitis, don’t have cancer, and am probably not going to be dying any time soon — at least, not because of this.
However, the general consensus (of the doctor and the radiologist and myself) is that I should stop eating so damned many fatty foods, and could stand to drop a couple dozen pounds. Meanwhile, go to the ER if the pain flares up too much over the weekend, and follow up with an internal medicine specialist on Monday. Else, rest, low-fat diet, lots of water. Pretty simple, really.
There’s one more test they’ll want to do, which’ll probably show that my gallbladder is hosed and will have to come out at some point, but I can probably control that pretty well via diet, which should be a good thing for me anyway.
Now, I’m exhausted. So I sleep. Good night.

Well at least it wasn’t appendicitis, and nothing too terribly bad except the gallbladder. I think we all could lose some poundage … If I lived near you I’d ask if you wanted to go to the rec center and do some workouts, … but alas.
Get some rest and take a little better care of yourself man. Me? … I’m off to do hw! … hooray for hw …
