WordPress 2.0
So, I’m trying out wordpress 2.0 now. Hoping things work out. So far, the upgrade went smoothly, but the theme switcher plugin is misbehaving a bit. So just a heads-up, if you want a non-default (ie: not complich8ions) theme, you may need to choose the same theme twice from the theme switcher. I don’t quite know why. Just one of those things I guess.
Anyway, it seems like it works. The WYSIWYG post editor takes some getting used to. I’ve already axed it, actually … it got particularly annoying very quickly.
I’m not sure I like the new author UI. I wonder how easy it’d be to change it a bit. I’ll have to look into it… this ugly blue schema is just irritating me. I liked wp 1.5′s nice clean white-and-gray look. I like the dragging-and-dropping of ui components, but it feels sort of incomplete as well…
Man. Neat features … but they’re all toys. None of them helps me do what I do.
But, with database changes, and with my haste to try it out not making a recent backup, I guess I’m probably stuck with it. May as well make the best of it, ya?
