This link to a subversion developer’s blog is worthwhile reading. And not just because it’s subversion-related, and about cool topics in version control. It deals with an important issue: the importance of working in the open.
See, recently a friend of mine (you know who you are :p) told me he was working on this system of mathematical models for society. And I was immediately reminded of that importance… something that my friend had lost touch with.
I guess the principles of openness, the value of academia, stuff like that are generally crushed and buried when you’re working for a mega-scale defense contractor

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!
We are the *insert major defense contractor*. Lower your shields and surrender. We will add …
Wait, right, openness and the v-v-v … I CAN’T SAY IT! =P.
I think it goes more along with my personality type. I’m introverted and yet I value something akin to the scientific method. On a good note, I’ve gained some valuable feedback from academia on that subject. So depending on where I will take this … we’ll see if I ever publish it =P.
