Spam epidemic
Since it was installed on this instance (not terribly long ago, a couple months I guess), akismet has caught 995 spams. That’s … well …
All I can say is, great work, akismet. That’s a lot of spam that I didn’t have to wade through.

Man, how did you miss the gmail boat? I haven’t gotten any spam since I signed up for it.

No no, I mean comment/trackback spam in wordpress.
But yeah, I intentionlly missed the gmail boat, for what I think is a fairly long list of reasonably good reasons.
My purdue email gets a consistent, mildly annoying level of spam, but it’s not enough to cause me real annoyance (partly because of the spam filtering that mailhub does now, partly because thunderbird’s junk filter is pretty decent once it’s trained up too).
On the other hand, wordpress-spamming … it’s just amazing.
