A weekend of gaming, packing, discarding, cleaning, etc…

OK, so I fell off the horse on the “image of the day” thing. Basically, Friday night I started playing Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. It’s interesting so far … the battle system is both engaging and a bit annoying. But out of something like the last 88 hours, I’ve only logged maybe 12 on the game, so I won’t say a whole lot more about it just yet.

I also watched a big chunk of Tsukiyomi: Moon Phase. Interesting series … I still hate the op song, but I can feel it creeping in and taking over my brain. Frightening. I’ve been pushing it out with the Mr. Stabby theme, though.

In preparation for the all-too-soon moveout that’s looming (and especially now that my roommate’s mostly moved out), I’ve been packing more stuff up. All 20 of the smaller-sized banker’s boxes, both of the larger ones, all four of the midsized rubbermaid totes, and more, full of stuff I don’t want to get rid of. On top of that, I’ve thrown out loads of miscellaneous stuff that was either too nasty to clean, too beat-up to keep, redundant with things I am keeping, or simply that I haven’t used since I moved in and won’t use in the next two or three years. I seem to remember having made about 7 trips to the dumpster tonight. 3 of them involved carrying at least two kitchen-size trashbags per trip, and the other 4 involved a midsized green milkcrate full of random stuff.

I’ve also been doing some other cleaning and fixing, including filling some holes in the wall (first time I’ve ever actually worked with plaster of paris… it was interesting). Need to hit the store for some sandpaper for the plaster, and maybe some lightbody spackle for some stapleholes around my door. The place is shaping up.

I think I’ve got another 4-6 hours of work to do to get things packed and cleaned, plus five or so loads of laundry to do. I’m finally starting to run down a bit, though.

For some idea of the tangible packing progress, here’s a picture from 5 minutes ago.
many, many more boxes
So much for me falling off the image of the day train. It’s back! Guaha! Gua-ha-ha!
