Ready, set … wait!

Back around the end of July, I interviewed with this company in DC, arranged by another DC-area company that they subcontract some things to. And they offered me a job, and I accepted and moved to the DC metro area, rooming with some friends from Purdue.

And I started to wait.

See, the job required a basic level of security clearance, called “public trust”. Which they say normally takes a month to do.

So all through August, I waited. And waited. And waited. And burned through money, and waited. And waited. And waited. It was … well … really, a lot of waiting.

I played video games a lot. I got myself settled and situated. I figured out how to get around Rockville. I watched anime, and movies. I got used to the mass transit systems … to Metro Center station, to Rockville station, to Rosslyn station. And still with the waiting.

Well, I’m finally done waiting. I got a call around … 13 hours ago now, saying in essence “you’re starting Tuesday, cool?”

My job’s finally starting! WOOO!

That is all.

Hahaha! Congratulations! Hopefully I’ll be doing some similar settling down in California next week. Happy to hear your job is coming along. Keep in touch, hopefully I’ll have some time on IM after the move.
