More of the same
So yeah, I’ve pretty well settled into a sort of flow of stuff. I’m still figuring out what goes where, how, and so on at work, but getting more useful by the day. The other guys who’ve been there a lot longer than me tend to do most of the routine day-to-day stuff, still, so I’ve been spending the last month on random projects, ranging from what amounts to a multithreaded, queuing version of the program “xargs” to building a loghost. I’m starting to fiddle around with dtrace just a little (but it’s going to be a while before I can get anything useful out of it at all). Lots of other random smallish projects…
Had a birthday a week or so ago. I’m getting old. But I decided I wanted a birthday present, so I got myself a PSP. The train ride really flies by when you’re watching about 40 minutes of tv shows or anime or playing video games for the whole trip, lemme tell ya. It’s nice.
Not a whole lot is going on in my life right now. I’m reading, gaming, working, and that’s about it. It’s … a bit dissatisfying, to be honest. I’m trying to knock out Persona 3 so I don’t have a game waiting for me to play it, and then I’m thinking of taking my evenings away from gaming, anime, tv and the internet all as a whole.
Incidentally, Persona 3 is pretty good, despite the whole “shooting yourselves in the head” aesthetic.
In other news, Freakonomics is good times. Blink is pretty interesting. The Kite Runner for some reason bored and disheartened me fairly early on in the story and I lost interest. By far, the best train book I’ve read so far is Apathy, and Other Small Victories, which comes highly recommended for anyone over the age of 18 or so with a slightly twisted sense of humor.

Morning David, I DID think about you on your birthday but was in the midst of the Fall Mall Trilogy. 3 malls in 3-3 or 4 day weekends, and night before set up. I was tired and a bit overwhelmed. I discovered I really don’t like mall food. So now, a vey delinquent ‘happy birthday.’
Juan still has his dad’s PSP since JR hasn’t contacted the kids since March. He has a lot of gaming fun on it & now maddie has started to figure it out( the wisdom comes from being in K)
Maynard is a good baby. He was finally awake in my arms today. Gotta make him some new hats, he’s in 3-6 mo clothes and is a chubby little thing. He’ll be 8 weeks tomarrow. Well I gotta get to work,I love ya, Aunt Alice
